A rebel worth remembering!

Sixty years ago today, December 1, Rosa Parks was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama for refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a city bus.  While perhaps best known for her action that day which sparked a yearlong boycott of buses by blacks in Montgomery, Rosa Parks was a lifelong activist in the civil rights movement where she addressed issues of segregation and economic and racial inequality.

Read more about this amazing woman in Langsdale Library’s copy of the definitive political biography The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks.
